Let them eat cake

July 16th, 2010

Wicked exciting news!!  In less than a month we’re going cake tasting!  Right now we’re open to many different varieties of cake which means more opportunities for eating free cake.  As a Marie Antoinette once said “Let them eat cake”.

Just in case you didn’t see the cake Lyndsey made two weeks ago. :-)

A picture’s worth….

Big news from the planning department; Lyndsey and met with a wedding photographer yesterday.  We went over some of our ideas, some their ideas, and what kinds of albums they can put together.  If anyone has any recommendations we’re open to them.  (Ryan Freeman I’m looking at you)

Colors

July 2nd, 2010

It’s getting close to time to choose our colors; I’m thinking a Star Wars themed color palette while Lyndsey is thinking more realistically.   It seems that Jedi lightsaber green isn’t a real color.  Oh well…

The Dress

Great news everyone; a dress has been purchased!  I get to  find out what it looks like in about 15-16 months!

The search continues

June 4th, 2010

Here we are three weeks into the search and things are getting narrowing down a bit. Two weeks ago we look at Novelty Hill in Woodinville and really liked it but we still have a few more places to check out. Oh! And October 1st 2011 is looking like a possible date. We’ll keep you posted though.

After looking at Willow’s Lodge on Saturday today we’re taking a tour of Januik Novelty Hill Winery in Woodinville. Maybe Redhook is an option? Naw; probably not :-)

May 20th, 2010

Well we’ve been engaged for almost a week now and Lyndsey and I are starting to look at places to have the wedding. Anyone have any suggestions?

The proposal

May 17th, 2010

After much pondering and planning John decided a trip to Victoria and a night at the Empress hotel would provide the perfect opportunity to “pop” the question.  After spending the day exploring Victoria and its many parks and gardens John’s plan was to have dinner in the Empress Room at the hotel, then propose after dinner in the rose garden on the hotel grounds.  But as luck would have it; it wasn’t to be.  Lyndsey after waking up from a nap wasn’t feeling well so dinner plans were canceled and the pair headed to the private lounge on the 2nd floor.

Canapes and a few glasses of wine followed; after and nice chat with the concierge (Kim) the lounge cleared of all guests and John saw his chance and made a quick exit up to the room to grab the ring.  But again fate intervened; when John came back the lounge was now filling back up with guests.  Luckily for him the concierge had a back up plan, to the back up plan, and casualty invited Lyndsey & John to view the harbor from the Flag Deck of the hotel.

Walking out onto the flag deck gave John & Lyndsey an unparalled view of the Victoria harbor and the illuminated parliment building across the way.  On bended knee John proposed Lyndsey accecpted and rest is history… Well history in the making that is…
